First Inning

By winning the toss, Punjab Kings (PBKS) has decided to bat first. Firstly, it looked like the decision might not work well as the team lost many early wickets. But one of the openers on one side stood strong. 

Priyansh Arya, a PBKS opener scored 103 runs off 43 balls. Later, he was out by Noor Ahmad in the 14th over. He was the highest run scorer of this match. He smashed 9 sixes and hit 7 boundaries. He played at a strike rate of 245.24.

Later Shashank Singh also gave a brilliant performance and scored 52 runs from 36 balls. He was not out at the end. He was the 2nd highest run scorer for PBKS in this match. He hit 2 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Marco Jansen also contributed beautifully to the team's score. He added 34 runs in 19 balls. He was also not out. He smashed 2 boundaries and 2 sixes.

All the other batsmen were out on single-digit scores, including Prabhsimran Singh at 0, captain Shreyas Iyer at 9, Marcus Stoinis at 4, Nehal Wadhera at 9, and Glenn Maxwell at 1. 

In all Punjab Kings made 219 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 6 wickets.

Khaleel Ahmed and Ravichandran Ashwin took 2-2 wickets each. Mukesh Choudhary and Noor Ahmed too 1-1 wickets each. Both Ravindra Jadeja and Matheesha Pathirana were wicketless in this match.

Second Inning

Now CSK has to chase 220 runs to win the match.

In this match, both of their openers gave a solid start. Rachin Ravindra scored 36 runs from 23 balls and Devon Conway scored 69 runs from 49 balls. Conway was the highest run scorer for CSK in this match.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was out on 1 run from 3 balls. 

Second highest run scorer for CSK in this match was Shivam Dube. He scored 42 runs from 27 balls.

MS Dhoni scored 27 runs from 12 balls. He hit 3 sixes and one boundary.

Jadeja and Vijay Shankar were not out at 9 and 2 runs respectively.

Lockie Ferguson took 2 wickets in his 4-over spell. 

Both Yash Thakur and Glenn Maxwell took 1 - 1 wicket each. 

However, Arshdeep Singh, Marcus Stoinis Marco Jansen, and Yuzvendra Chahal remained wicketless.

The economy of Maxwell was best from spinners at 5.50 and from pacers, Arshdeep Singh had the best economy of 9.75 along with Yash Thakur.

CSK was able to make only 201 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 5 wickets. Thus they were not able to chase the target and they lost the match.

Player of the Match

Priyansh Arya, PBKS opener who scored the fastest century in IPL history was announced the Player of the Match. He scored 103 runs in just 42 balls. He was out by Noor Ahmed. 

He is playing IPL for the first time. He played his first match in IPL for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 against GT. In that match, he scored 47 runs.
